Don and Jean opened their own business in 1989, Whitlock's Pawn, in Bonham. He had the time of his life making deals and making so many friends through the business. Don and Jean sold the business and retired in 2005. He spent the past five years traveling around the country, visiting the casinos, having coffee with his friends, tending his cows and vegetable garden on the ranch, fishing and watching sunsets on the lake.
Don is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean Whitlock; his daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Kevin Biggs of Iowa Park; his daughter and son-in-law Jeanna and Brian Crow of Austin; and five grandchildren, Lindsay and Sean Biggs and Brantley, Carlyn and Lawson Crow. He was preceded in death by a brother James Arthur Whitlock in 1965 and his father Marshall Wayne (Fat) Whitlock in 1987.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday, Jan. 5 to pay their respects and to sign the register book at Mullican-Little Funeral Home, State Highway 56, Bells/ Savoy. The family will be at the residence in Bonham. There will be no formal family visitation.
