JOHN VINCENT RETIRED FARMER SUCCUMBS TODAY
John W. Vincent, 87-year-old retired farmer, died at 8 o'clock Friday morning at his home, 122 East Heron street following an illness of 3 months.
A short funeral service was conducted Saturday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E. Easterly, 131 W. Murray.  Regular services were held at 3 p.m. at Hebron church with interment at the Hebron Cemetery with Short-Murray, funeral directors, in charge.
Vincent was born April 16, 1850, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Vincent and received his education at that point.  The family later moved to a Missouri farm, residing ther for 14 years.  They moved to Grayson county 39 years ago and Vincent spent nearly a quarter of a century in Grayson and Fannin counties as a farmer.
He married Miss Mary E. Shepherd, February 3, 1878 in Kentucky.  He was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are his widow; 5 sons, Jack of Chardlton, Texas; W.S. of Dallas; A.F. of Shawnee, Oklahoma; J.H. of Clovis, New Mexico; and N.C. Vincent of Lubbock.
Seven daughters surviving are Mrs. Cora  Dickson of Savoy; Mrs. E. Easterly; Mrs. T.F. Bell, Mrs. Wm. Vert, Mrs. Clifton Herriage, all of Denison; and Mrs. Vallie Duncan of Stamford, Texas;  brothers surviving are Isom of Kentucky, Jim of Ft. Worth, Jack of Kentucky with sister, Mrs. Martha Cox of Kentucky.
