Bells (Spl) - Vestel E. Garner, 67-year-old Bells retired dairyman, died Wednesday in a Sherman hosptial following a long illness.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, 2:30 o'clock, at Mullican-Little Funeral home with Rev. Keith Gant, pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church west of Bells, assisted by Rev. Harry Stanley, pastor of the Bells First Baptist Church, officiating.
Mr. Garner was born April 1, 1901, in Bells, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Garner.  He was married November 15, 1924, in the Hebron community to Miss Nettie Scott, who survives him.  He was a member of the Baptist church.
In addition to his wife of the home in Bells, he is survived by five sons, Weldon Garner of Denison, Route 1; Clyde Garner, of Sherman, Route 1; and Floyd, Boyd and Alton Garner, all of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Moss of Savoy and Mrs. Dalton Jaco of Sherman; one brother, Wayne Garner of San Angelo; and four sisters, Mrs. Fay Key of Tom Bean, Mrs. Exil Cherry and Mrs. Pauline Cherry of Denison and Mrs. Bercie Horner of San Antonio; and eight grandchildren.
