SHERMAN - Funeral services for Michael Glenn Moody, 56, of Sherman were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 graveside at Hall Cemetery in Howe. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
He passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at his residence in Sherman.
Michael was born on August 21, 1956 in Grapevine, the son of Paul Moody, Sr. and Violet G. Lackey Moody. He married Teresa Long on September 21, 1979 in Dallas, Texas. Michael loved fishing and most of all, being a Pastor. He was currently the Pastor of The General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Bells, Texas. Michael worked for Texas Instruments and MEMC for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Moody of Sherman; one daughter, Heather Pittman and husband Shaun of Tioga; two grandchildren, Kason Michael Pittman and Kelci Kay Pittman; two brothers, Paul Moody, Jr. and wife Juanita of Sherman, and Gary Moody and wife Donna of Denison. Michael is also survived by his two cousins, Margaret Carr and James Blevins, and a host of nieces, nephews and his brothers and sister of faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Kelly Diane Moody and baby Moody.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donation be made in Michael's name to The General Assembly and Church of the First Born account located at the Independent Bank, 300 E. Taylor St., Sherman, TX 75090.
