DEATH STRIKES

Life-Long Resident of Howe Dies at 78

Funeral services for Charley Sollis, 78, a life long resident of the Howe community, were held at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Claude Cone, pastor. Burial was in the Hall Cemetery. Mr. Sollis died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday at a Sherman hospital after an illness of one week. His home was in Howe.
He was born in Howe August 7th, 1887, the son of the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Sollis. He was married to Miss Jessie Wolfe on February 3rd, 1908 in Howe and had farmed in this area all his life, retiring several years ago. He was a member
of the First Baptist Church here.

Survivors are his wife of Howe; one son, Alton L. Sollis of Howe; two brothers, Walter Sollis of Howe and Ector Sollis of Crowell; five sisters, Mrs. Dora Yowell and Mrs. Grace Hix of Sherman and Mrs. Bertha Mode and Miss Birdie Sollis both
of Howe; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

J.J.Chisum, Clark Bowden, Albert Cavender, O.T. Corbin, Albert Hall and Jack Orr served as pallbearers.
