February 19, 2012 Elsie was born in Howe, Texas, December 6, 1922 & passed away February 18, 2012; she graduated from Howe High School in 1940; attended Kilgore Junior College; married to John Woodrow Spears for 59 years. Surviving are sister, Iris Brinkley of Dallas; son, John Stephen Spears and wife Mary of Fulshear, Texas; daughters, Gail Spears Groves and husband Glenn of New Braunfels, Texas and Julie Spears of Garland; granddaughters, Sara Spears and Susie Levario & husband Miguel; great grandchildren, Hannah Van Patten & Diego Levario. Her hobbies were painting and genealogy and she enjoyed her many friends. Elsie was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church since 1957 to the present, except for several years when she lived in Longview. She belonged to the Cleta Taylor Sunday School Class and taught for several years in the children's department at Lakeside & First Baptist Church in Longview. The Funeral Service, 11:00 am Wednesday, February 22, 2011 in the Chapel of Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery in Howe, Texas.
