   Erskine L. Bearden 1913 - 1997 Ann E. Bearden 1906 - 1992 wed 23 October 1937  Aubrey W. Bearden 1908 - 2000 Dona Speer Bearden 1921 - 2022  Dona Lee Bearden, 100, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Howe, Texas, passed from this life Tuesday, June 21, 2011. She was born December 9, 1921 in Strawn, Texas, daughter of Tom and Eva Jane Boyd Speer. She attended school at Strawn, Springer Gap, Brad, and graduated from Caddo High School in 1940. She worked on B-24's at the Consolidated Aircraft plant in Ft. Worth during the war. On January 14, 1947 Dona married Aubrey Willis Bearden of Howe, Texas; and they were married for 53 years, until his death in 2000. She began a beautician career in Orlando, Florida in the 1960s and finished her career working in Howe, Texas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Howe and enjoyed working her craft with the "Wednesday Workers." She was an avid crafts person and loved to sew, paint, and do any type of crafting in her home sewing/crafting room. Dona is survived by her son, John Bearden and wife, Karen, of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Carolyn LeNoir and husband, Rick, of Commerce City, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents of Palo Pinto, Texas; brothers, Kenneth Speer of Jal, New Mexico; and R.T. Speer of Howe, Texas; sisters, Betty West of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Shirley St. Clair of Palo Pinto, Texas. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, June 25, 2022 in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Howe, Texas. Rev. Joe Ed Goolsby of First United Methodist Church of Sherman, Texas officiated.
