Mrs. Maude M. Davis, 76, formerly of Sherman, died Sunday at an El Paso hospital.  Services were held Tuesday at the Waldo Funeral Chapel with burial at Hall Cemetery.  Rev. Leon Martin, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene and Rev. R.B. Gilmore, Nazarene minister of Sherman, officiated.
Mrs. Davis was born April 4, 1893 in Texas, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Will Embry.  She was married to Joe M. Davis in 1911, who died in May 1953.  She lived in Sherman for many years, moving to El Paso to make her home about nine years ago.  She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors are three sons, Ohmer E. Davis of El Paso; B.M. Davis of Pueblo, Colorado; and Mack A. Davis of Mineral Wells; five daughters, Mrs. Zelda White of El Paso; Mrs. A.D. Jeffries, Mrs. Eva Lois Smith, both of Howe; Mrs. Esther Goodson of Phoenix; and Mrs. Margie Jordan of Saginaw; her foster mother, Mrs. G.A. Lackey of Sherman and a foster brother, Herman Howdeshell of Sherman; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J.D. Finney, James L. Davis, J.W. Cassidy, Harold Lee Finney, Alton Holloway and Ralph Brodhead.
