Michiel Calvin Pinion was born on September 10, 1948 in McKinney, Texas.  Mike was 72 years old.  He was the first-born son of Calvin and Reba Cupp Pinion.  Mike was an Air Force brat and lived in Texas, South Carolina, California, Mississippi, and Arizona.  Mike graduated in 1966 from Palo Verde High School in Tucson, Arizona.  Mike's mother, dad, brother and sister moved to Indiana after Mike graduated from high school and Mike moved back to Texas so he could attend Grayson County Junior College.  Mike lived with his aunt and uncle in Denison and then with his grandparents in Gunter, Texas.  Mike's parents, brother and sister moved to Sherman, Texas in 1969 after his dad retired from the Air Force.  Mike's younger brother, David Pinion, died in 1977 from Cystic Fibrosis.
Mike married Susan Parker on July 26, 1969 and the following week went to New York for training with Texas Instruments.  He retired from TI in Sherman, Texas as a Systems Manager after 36 years.  Mike and Susan loved RVing and especially loved Branson, Missouri.  They spent many months each year at Treasure Lake RV Resort, their home away from home, with friends and family.  Mike was an excellent wood carver and loved to sit outside of the RV carving.  He always had an empty chair to offer to anyone who stopped by the campsite.  He encouraged others to carve with him and loved everyone gathering around to carve, laugh and visit.  He and Susan met so many wonderful people at Treasure Lake.  These trips were special times.  They continued spending 4 to 6 months each year in Branson until Mike's health declined.  Mike was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis in 2014, Parkinson's Disease in January 2015 and dementia in the fall of 2015.  Mike and Susan were determined to continue their RVing in Branson for as long as they could and were thankful to all of their friends who helped them in the later years so they could continue doing what they loved.
Mike loved life, his family and had many friends.  He was honest, ethical, kind, gentle, wise, smart and had a wonderful sense of humor.  Mike was an amazing dad, coach, teacher and loved us all unconditionally.  Mike was good with computers and loved to help others with their computers until his health prevented it.
Mike is survived by his wife, Susan Parker Pinion of Sherman; his sons, Michiel Sean Pinion and wife, Roniese, of Colbert, Oklahoma; and Daniel Lee Pinion and wife, Kristi, of Van Alstyne, Texas; and his daughter, Kerry Lynn Pinion Smith and husband, Tap, of Sadler, Texas.  Mike also has 10 grandchildren: Taylor Pinion Garner; Chase Michael Pinion; Shelly Smith; Nikki Smith; Parker Smith; Chase William Pinion; Matthew Pinion; Lauren Pinion; JJ Pinion; and Sean Pinion; his sister, Beth Pinion Weeks and husband, Steve, of Sherman; his niece, Ashley Weeks Jesko and husband, Alex; his nephew, Andy Weeks and wife, Bobbie; sister-in-law, Robin Parker, of Dallas; aunts, Ellen Cupp of Denison; Jean Dennis Pinion of Lewisville; uncle, Howard Pinion of Gunter; and numerous cousins.
