Barbara Sue Coffman Jack, who was known as "Mama" to her girls, departed her loving family on May 2, 2022.
Barbara was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on October 28, 1945, daughter of Hazel Gordon Coffman and Girald E. Coffman.
Barbara married Bruce Arlin Jack of Sulphur, Oklahoma on February 24, 1968.  They honeymooned in Galveston, Texas and loved to tell the story of that trip.  You could see during each retelling they'd both be reliving those wonderful new moments together.  It was special.
Barbara was mother to Regina Ann Banks, Veronica Lynn Simmons, and Jennifer Dawn Andy.  She raised her children with love and devotion with her husband, Bruce, who preceded her in death July 2015.
As a homemaker, Barbara was known for wanting you to feel at home when you were at her house.  Were you hungry?  Were you warm, cold?  She'd want you to have a seat, she'd chat away and if you were a stranger, she did her best to be a friend by the time your visit was over.  Her hobbies included shopping trips, gardening and cooking.  She could do each of these for hours and was good at it.  She was most proud of her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, the many children she took care of and her good friends.
She loved her friends like they were family.  They brought so much joy to her life, and she appreciated the lunches, shopping trips and road trips, but most importantly their friendship.
During her time as a care giver, she was really in her element.  She could play a mean game of Old Maid or Go Fish.  She taught the kids dominoes and Solitaire, how to garden, color and cook.  If you had a scrape or hurt feelings, her lap became a place of comfort or the wildest horse ride in the south, always sure to make the kids laugh and forget all about whatever was troubling them.
Barbara is survived by her daughters: Regina Banks and husband, Jeff; Veronica Simmons and husband, Steve; and Jennifer Andy and husband, Terry, Jr.; sisters, Sybil Brown and Odessa Trout; sisters-in-law, Barbara Jack Myers, Janice Jack Anderson, Rajeane Jack; also her grandchildren: Amanda Louise Banks; Clay Mitchell Banks; Caleb Anthony Jack; and Gwendalyn Opal Andy.  Many nieces and nephews: Quentin Brown; Patricia Martin; Angie Brown; Dean Coffman; Gail Conway; Paul Coffman; Leonard Coffman; Deborah Mattingly; Ronnie Clary; Rhonda Clary King; Carol Trout; John Anderson, Jr.; Ryan Anderson; Gene Taylor Myers; Kathy Myers; Kristy Jack Waldraff; Kara Jack Nixon; Jim Jack;
Services were held Saturday afternoon, May 14, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Gunter.  Interment followed at Gunter Cemetery, Gunter, Texas. - - - Scoggins Funeral Home
