B.D. HAYTER DEAD
Pioneer Citizen of Grayson County Passes Away at Gordonville

Gordonville, Texas, June 12 - B.D. Hayter, retired farmer and director in the Guaranty Bank of Gordonville, a pioneer citizen of this county, died in his home here this morning at 6 o'clock after a short illness.  Mr. Hayter had been in poor health for some years, but his last illness was only a few days' duration.
He was born in Tennessee 67 years ago but came to this state and county when a mere boy of 10 or 12 years, making this county and community his home ever since, seeing the country develop from its primeval condition to its present state of modernity.
He was married early in life to Miss Mary Crabtree, who survives him.  Six children came to bless them, three of whom died in childhood.  Those surviving are Mrs. R.S. McAdams, Mrs. W.C. Womack and Postmaster Albert Hayter, all of this place.  He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters, viz: Messrs. John Hayter of Waco, Jim Hayter and Will Hayter of Megargle, Texas; and R.L. Hayter of Whitewright; Mrs. Tom Givens of Roff, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Hattie Stallings of Mannsville, Oklahoma, all of whom are arriving for the funeral service which will be held in the Methodist church of this place tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.
Mr. Hayter was a member and trustee of the Methodist church for many years, faithful in his trust and one who will be greatly missed.
In his passing Grayson County and this community loses one of its best citizens and the news of his death will be learned with universal regret.
