POTTSBORO - Michael William Wallace, age 55, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 7, 2014 at his home in Pottsboro.
Mr. Wallace was born August 8, 1958 in Big Spring, Texas, the son of Hugh and Sara (Pike) Wallace. He graduated from Coahoma High School in 1976. Michael continued his education at Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri where he met and fell in love with Miriam Wilkerson, whom he married three weeks after their graduation. They were wed June 4, 1982 in Owensboro, Kentucky and built a life together in their shared profession of teaching.
He furthered his education by receiving his Masters Degree at the Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. Michael has taught and coached countless kids and youth across the state of Texas. For the past eleven years he has locally been employed at Denison, S&S and Callisburg, where he ended his career.
He has locally attended Trinity Lighthouse Church where he has made many friends and grew in his walk with God.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his loving family, wife of 31 years, Miriam Wallace, father, Hugh Wallace and wife, Linda, three brothers, Gary Wallace and wife, Chris, Donald Wallace and Alan Wallace and wife, Tonda, one sister, Janie Jackson and husband, James, parents-in-law, Ray and Dorothy Wilkerson, sister in law, Naomi Brown and husband, Mitch, brother-in-law, Roger Wilkerson and wife, Terri, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by mother, Sara Wallace.
Funeral services for Mr. Wallace will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10 at Trinity Lighthouse Church with Rev. Raymond England and Rev. Alan Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro.
The funeral home will open at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Callisburg Lady Kat Athletics.
In lieu of Flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in his name to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 W. Center St., Sherman, TX. 75090 or to Trinity Lighthouse Church Building Fund, 2915 Spur 503, Denison, TX. 75020.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison.
