Robert Craig Pellman, 84 of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away peacefully
at his home on April 2, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Robert was born March 23, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan.  He graduated high school and then served in the National Guard for 11 years from 1957-1968.  Serving as a sergeant E-6 Railroad unit steam and diesel locomotive shop foreman.
Bob was married to Mary I. Pellman for 53
years in 2012.  Bob had been working for Tanglewood Resort and upon his retirement in 2013, they mentioned they would call Spring of 2014; he was still waiting for that call.
During this time, he then joined hands with
Mary R. "Rosie" Pellman who he spent 10 loving years together until her passing in June of 2022, leaving him a widowed man.
Bob was a member of the American Legion #231 for 54 years.  He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #238 as a (PER) for 43 years.  His community service to everything he believed in came from the heart.  He loved donating his time, spending hours collecting cans, crushing, and selling them to send the earning to the Bonham VA Nursing Home.  He believed every Veteran deserved more than he did.
In his spare time, if not helping others, he loved traveling.  Going to the Blue River was one of his favorite places, located in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.  Bob enjoyed the Trout Derby twice a year, and would always take his dogs Chigger, Archie and Patch.  He loved the Blue and his whiskey too.
Bob couldn't wait to ride his motorcycle any time he got the chance.  He loved going every Thursday night or the motorcycle group they called The Old Fart Group.  He participated in the Toys for Tots ride yearly.
He also loved taking his golf cart out and visiting the neighborhood family and friends.  In closing Bob was the most loving, caring, gentle, smart ass you could ever meet.   He inspired every person he was around to be a better person and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Bob leaves behind his son, Rick Pellman and wife, Windy, of Sherman; daughter, Debbie Pellman of Denison; son, Mike Pellman and wife, Betty, of South Carolina; granddaughters, Tabitha Lenard and husband, Jamey, of Pottsboro; Alyssa Pellman of Sherman; Lacie Lucas and husband, Josh, of Odessa; Carmen Shelton and husband, James, of Durant, Oklahoma; grandsons: Nick Pellman and wife, Becky, of Howe; Tyler Pellman and fiance, Miranda Fulmer, of Aubrey; Joseph Pellman
of Denison; Terry Pellman and wife, Sally, of Athens, Texas; and Billy Pellman and wife, Mary, of Alaska; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary; second wife, Rosie; mother, Ruth Pellman; brothers, Johnny Pellman, Jimmy Pellman; and sister-in-law, Sam Pellman.
Funeral service for Mr. Pellman was held at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Terry Pellman officiating.  Interment followed at Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro, Texas.   Pallbearers were Nick Pellman, Jamey Lenard, Tyler Pellman, Caleb Pellman, Chris Stewart and Joseph Pellman.
