The Denison Press January 27, 1950 PFC DOYLE T BURKHAM Military re-burial services were held at Georgetown cemetery Saturday for Pfc. Doyle Burkham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Burkham, of Pottsboro. Pvt. Burkham was killed on Cebu Island in the Philippines, March 29, 1945, while serving with the US Army. Rev. Ray Short conducted the services with military honors at the graveside. Bratcher-Moore had charge of arrangements. Burkham enlisted in Denion in February 1943. He trained at Camp Roberts and Ft. Oord in California and went overseas in November 1943. He saw service at Bougainville and other points in the Pacific. He is survived by his parents; a brother, J.D. Burkham, Pottsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis Simpson of Miami, Florida and Mrs. Bill Perrin of Gainesville.
