Draughon's College Denison, Texas  Rusk Avenue Draughon's College located in the building on the right. In 1879
Professor John F. Draughon realized a need to train people for the
business world. His first venture was Draughon's Practical
Business College on wheels, which consisted of his horse, a wagon, and
teaching materials. He traveled monthly through
Middle
Tennessee and southern Kentucky. His first permanent school
was
opened in Nashville, Tennessee, starting one of the largest chains of
business colleges in the nation, in every southern and western state.
