Mrs. Kate Wakefield is principal of the Jefferson School and a teacher of most excellent worth. She has a diploma from Haverling Academy at Bath, N.Y., and another from the New State University of New York. For two and a half years she taught in the schools of Denver, Colo. On account of the ill health of her husband, John Wakefield, who afterwards died in Texas, she came to the Lone Start State in 1893 and one year later began teaching in the public schools of Sherman, being a teacher in the Franklin School for six years. Her work as a teacher was of such splendid character that last year she was elected principal of Jefferson School
