Thursday, May 7, 1936 ELMONT SCHOOL WILL CLOSE FRIDAY, MAY 15 According to announcement made this week by J. H. Murphy, principal, the Elmont school will close Friday May 15 with programs Thursday and Friday nights. An all-day picnic and dinner will be held on the 15th with ball games in the afternoon. The seventh month honor for the school has been announced as follows: Fourth grade, Lucille West, Maud Medcalf, Clarissa Kirby and Paul Nixon; third, Judge Stroud and Jamie Davis; second, Doris West, Emma Jean Miller, Wanda Jean Hunnicutt and Hugh Neill; first, betty Stroud, Lee Geer and Billy Davis; fifth, Noami Stroud and Annie Whitaker; sixth, Margie Miler; seventh, Betty Wade and Viola Hill.
