The Knights of Honor, aka K. of H., was founded on June 30, 1873 by James Andrew Demaree and Dr. Darius Wilson as a fraternal order and secretsociety for mutual aid, protection and wealth.
The Denison Lodge, Knights of Honor was organized April 18, 1879.

The Knights of Honor lodge was organized April 18 by Deputy Grand Dictator J.R. Rutherford of Mineola, assisted by J.R. Coffin of Houston lodge, and R.W. Parks of Mexia lodge.  The following were the officers:
