St. Luke's Episcopal Church Denison, Texas The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, December 24, 1893 pg. 1 CHRISTMAS IN DENISON How the Date is to be Celebrated by Churches, Societies, and Individuals St. Luke's Episcopal Church Mr. E.H. Lingo, superintendent of the Episcopal Sunday School, has been confined to his room with la grippe this week and the Christmas exercises of his Sunday School have been arranged without his aid. Some time during the week the Sunday School will be given a party in the Munson building near the postoffice. All of the children of the school will be remembered with presents suitable to the occasion and a literary program will form a part of the evening's exercises. Mrs. Wood, Mrs. E.H. Lingo and daughter, Miss Cora, Mrs. Dr. Feild, Mrs. Ernst and quite a number of the members of the church will assist in rendering the evening one of joy and happiness, especially to the Sunday School children and to all their friends who may be present. As yet the details of the party have not been arranged. St. Luke's Mission Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Calvert and their family of interesting children will entertain the children of St. Luke's Mission Sunday School Monday evening. A handsome cedar tree has been procured for the evening and although the attendance may not be so large as that at some of the churches, it will be none the less delightful. Mrs. Calvert has erected the tree in the parlor at her home, South Lamar avenue, and the little people in that neighborhood are anticipating a jolly time.
