Friday, May 16, 1919 pg. 1 Canaan Church - People Will Worship Together The Canaan Presbyterian whose house was destroyed by the recent tornado have purchased an interest in the Everheart Memorial Methodist Church building, located a half mile further west . The deal provides for the removal of the Methodist building to the Presbyterian lots near the railroad and good road. The property will be remodeled and refurnished and a bell installed after it is placed on the new site. The Presbyterians and Methodists of Canaan worshipped together in the same building for many years, until about 19 years ago, one of the denominations withdrew and erected another building. They have wisely decided that one building will meet their requirements and will obviate the expense of maintaining two church houses.
