Mount Moriah Baptist Church

The congregation of Mr. Moriah Baptist Church held a special meeting on June 20, 1956 and produced a Resolution filed with County in Deed Records 0839, pg.0130.
On August 11, 1954, the Trustees of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Denison, Texas held a meeting and were authorized by the membership of the church to sell property belonging to the church to Cecil Rice.  The trustees were authorized to execute a sale contract with Cecil Rice.
The Trustees of the church were W.B. Brown, Alice K. Woods, and Ruthie J. Brown.  These trustees were to complete the sale and conveyed to Cecil Rice a Warranty Deed conveying to him 1/2 acre as described in Deed Record Volume 818, page 452 with the deed dated June 1, 1955.
The Resolution authorizing such sale had been lost.  It became necessary that said resolution and execution of said deed be confirmed.  The above listed Trustees confirmed that that they were confirmed in all acts done in the sale of the church property, that they were authorized to make such sale, and the execution in the sales contract and the Warranty Deed were all confirmed as well as the delivery to Cecil Rice and the property conveyed being described as follows:




Ruthie J. Brown, in the capacity of Secretary of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Denison certified that the Resolution was unanimously adopted in a special meeting held June 20, 1956, a quorum present and authorized to conduct business, certified that acts contained in the Resolution were authorized by the by-laws and regulations of the Church.  She certified that the trustees listed above were authorized to act in behalf of the Church.  Ms. Jones' statements were notarized on June 20, 1956 by Hal H. Rawlins, Notary Public Grayson County, Texas.  (Grayson County Deed Records 0839, page 0131)
