Little Egypt Methodist

Services were held regularly in the Little Egypt Community schoolhouse from the late 1870s to about 1914.  Reverend Joe Meeks was the minister.  When a new schoolhouse was built to the east of the Cedar Mills Community, the children of Little Egypt began to attend this new school.

The members of Little Egypt Methodist Church began worshiping with the new Post Oak Grove (Shiloh) Baptist Church which had been built to the west of Cedar Mills.

Some of the members of the Little Egypt Methodist Church were:
Mrs. Joe (Lizzie) Meeks and family
Jacobs Family
Bates Family
Joe & Minnie Burns
John Meeks Family
Bill Meeks Family
Pitts Family
Kenneth Guggle Family
Ben Ogdoxely Family.

Some of the people who attended the church would cross the Red River by ferry to attend church services.
