Carroll Ann Brown Caughey, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away February 21, 2016,
in Dallas, Texas. She was born June 21, 1934, in Gunter, Texas, to Rachael and Cy Brown. She attended Sherman High School and North Texas State, was a member of Junior League for years and was President of the Abilene Jayceettes from 1963 to 1968. Carroll was secretary to the Commanding General's Aide-de-Camp in Virginia after she and Doyle married in 1952. She was an avid bridge player, played the piano beautifully and worked the New York Times crosswords daily. She loved God, her family and friends, and music. She was lovingly called "Momoo" by her grandchildren who cherished her. Her quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her well. Carroll and Doyle attended Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas where Doyle served as a Deacon. Carroll enjoyed traveling with Doyle for his concerts with the Vocal Majority Men's Chorus in Dallas until 2007. She is predeceased by her husband and high school sweetheart, Doyle Ray Caughey, and survived by her two daughters, Kathy Caughey Siess and her son Matthew, LuAnn Caughey Lueckemeyer and her spouse Doug, and their daughter Ellie. Carroll is predeceased by her brother Jack Brown, and survived by his wife Jackie their children Mike, Cynthia, Laura and Greg and their extended families, her brother Scott Brown and his daughter Katie and her son Jacob, and a host of other family members and friends that will miss her immensely. A private graveside service was held Thursday afternoon, February 25, 2016, at Friendship Cemetery in Sherman, Texas, and a reception will be held at the home of Kathy Siess, beginning at 5:00 pm Saturday, February 27, 2016, for family and friends.
