Sherman- Funeral services for Ethel Louise Ross will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 14 at Waldo Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Lawson of the First Baptist Church of Sherman officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Mike Wilson, Ricky Quarles, Chris Miller, John Sutherland, Ronnie Ross, and Wayne Thompson will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Ross passed away Thursday, September 10 at the Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne at the age of 81.
Louise was born on June 12, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to the late Ernest and Ethel (Dunn) Tatum. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1947 and married Alvin Ross on October 4, 1947. She and Alvin were married for over 58 years when he passed away on April 5, 2006. Louise was employed at Pool Manufacturing for 23 years and she and Alvin owned and operated Texoma Furniture Company for over 30 years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Sherman.
Mrs. Ross is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Miller and husband Charles of Anna; two granddaughters, Cynthia Wilson and husband Mike of Gun Barrel City, Texas and Cherri Ramirez and husband Thomas of Rowlett, Texas; three great grandsons; two great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Sunday at Waldo Funeral Home.
