Funeral services for Marion Harrold Meek, age 92, of Bells, TX will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Pilgrim Nazarene Church in Sherman, TX with Rev Harrold E. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Friendship Cemetery in Sherman, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.

Marion passed away on May 8, 2013 at his daughter and son-in-law's residence in Bells, TX.

He was born on November 7, 1920 in Tishomingo, OK the son of William Henry Meek and Dovie May Cook Meek. Marion graduated from Howe High School in 1938. He joined and served in the United States Navy. Marion married Doris Ethelyn Keller on November 28, 1942 in Durant, OK. He then completed a Veterans Administration Postwar Apprenticeship Program through Keller Refrigeration in Sherman, TX. They moved to Odessa in 1949 and he worked for Meador Refrigeration Sales and Service. In 1955 he opened his own business, Meek Refrigeration and A/C. Marion retired in 1982. He was a charter member of Pilgrim Nazarene Church, serving on the Board of Trustees for many years to present. Marion loved the outdoors, taking care of his yard, working in his garden, and taking his grandchildren fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Ethelyn Meek of Bells, TX, daughter, Patsy Ann Taylor and husband David of Bells, TX, son, Dr. Ron Meek and wife Connie of Henderson, NV, eight grandchildren, Charles R. Meek II and wife Monica of Moore, OK, Janyth Cheryll Meek Norwood and husband Teke of Odessa, TX, Beau Joshua Keller Meek of Madison, TN, Jason Wallace and wife Mytae of Henderson, NV, Harrold Eugene Taylor and wife Judy Kay of Fountaintown, IN, Regina Doris Taylor Yancey and husband Michael of Lakewood, CO, Mayrene Lucille Taylor Howard and husband Jack of Arlington, TX and Patrick Nathaniel Taylor and wife Mary of Indianapolis, IN. Marion is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, three brothers, Eual Buryl Meek and wife Leah of Henderson, TX, William Howard Meek of Sherman, TX and Bob Meek and wife Irene of Seagoville, TX, also a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Vada America Tennessee Meek Fraley, Edith Meek Fraley, Hazel Meek Cheeks and Mae Pearl Meek Armstrong Holloway, three brothers, Henry Meek, Ralph Meek and Donald Meek.
Family night will be held on Sunday, May 12th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
