for Mrs. Margie E. McDonald of 121 E. College, 74-year-old retired
waitress and restaurant manager who died Monday at a Gunter nursing
home, were held Thursday in Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Lemmons,
Baptist minister of Elgin, Oklahoma, officiated and burail was in
Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. McDonald was born in Sherman, daughter of Albert and Amanda Lem Dishner, and married John D. McDonald, Jr. on March 8, 1929 in Madill, Oklahoma. She was a waitress and manager of McCraw's Restaurant, Travis lunch room and Ramada Inn Restaurant before her retirement and a member of Woods Street Church of Christ. Surviving are her son, Billy C. McDonald of Sherman; mother of Gunter; sisters, Robbie McDaniel of Lubbock, Francis Simms of Wylie, Mildred Hale of Austin and Ann Perkins of Mesquite; brothers, Albert Dishner of Balch Springs; Ray Dishner of Eustace; and Paul Dishner of Arlington; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Johnny McDonald, Roy McDonald, Tony Barnard, Jerry Hale, Raymond McDaniel, and Larry Cole.
