SHERMAN - Funeral services for Mary Ellen Jones will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at Waldo Funeral Home. Jerry
Stokes and Mary Roberts will speak with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery with Dr. Bill Plauche, Greg Minton, Bobby Jones, Hunter Plauche, Jerry Stokes, and Clay Martin serving as pallbearers. Mary, age 70, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Texoma Medical Center.


Mary was born July 7, 1943 in Linden, Ind. to Willard and Gertrude (Allen) Dickey. She moved to Sherman several years
ago to be near her daughter Cheryl and her family and quickly made many new friends. Mary enjoyed her weekly Bible Study Fellowship, gardening with her son-in-law Bill, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will
be dearly missed by all who knew her.


Mary, affectionately known as "Mimi" by her friends and family, is survived by one son, Robert Jones and his wife Lori
of Boerne; two daughters, Michelle Minton and husband Greg of Round Rock and Cheryl Plauche and husband Dr. Bill Plauche of Sherman; two brothers, James Dickey and wife Sharon of Ohio and Charles Dickey of Florida; one sister,
Naomi LaMonds of Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Dane Jones, Mara Jones, Broc Jones, Madison Minton, Mason
Minton, Avalon Plauche, and Hunter Plauche. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Gertrude Dickey of Mishawaka, Ind.


The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Naomi LaMonds for the compassionate care that she provided Mary during her time of failing health. They would also like to thank her many friends for their love and support.
