Mrs. J.A. Bailey Dies After Birthday

Sherman, Texas  Jan 16- Funeral services are to be held Monday afternoon at the Southmayd Baptist Church for Mrs. J.A. Bailey, who celebrated her sixty-seventh birthday Wednesday in her home in Southmayd. Mrs Bailey died Saturday night at a local hospital after becoming ill on her birthday. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery west of Sherman.

Mrs. Bailey settled in Southmayd, ten miles West of Sherman, after she had come from Alabama in 1892 where she married
her husband at Fort Payne, Ala., on Nov 11, 1892. She had lived at Southmayd since then and had been a member of the Southmayd church for the last thirty-five years.

Surviving are her husband; four sons, L.C. Bailey of Pampa, Clarence Bailey of Sherman and Horance and L.L. Bailey of Southmayd; four daughters, Mrs Truman Elmore, Mrs Bennie McBee and Miss Zoe Bailey of Southmayd, and Mrs Claude R. Moss of Stamford.
