Services were held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells for William Hempstead "Bill" Dunn, 91, who was dead on arrival at a Sherman hospital after suffering a stroke at his home Saturday morning.
Services were conducted by Rev. Harry Stanley, former pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bells.  He was assisted by Rev. Lawrence Smith, apstor of the First United Methodist Church.  Burial was at Friendship Cemetery in Sherman.
Mr. Dunn was born February 24, 1880 in Treemont, Mississippi, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Dunn.  On August 9, 1900 he married Nettie Sue Willis in Canton.  She preceded him in death September 8, 1958.  He was also preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.
He was a retired blacksmith and had lived in Bells for more than 50 years.
He is surivived by one son, Burley Dunn, of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. Fairy Ramsey of Bells, with whom he made his home; and Mrs. Ettice Stanfield of Dallas; two granddaughters whom he reared in his home, Mrs. Billie Landrum of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Mrs. Delores Meek of Bells; three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Worley of Sherman; Mrs. Myrtle Lankford of Grand Prairie; and Mrs. Mary Shumpert of Madill, Oklahoma; six other grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Morris Ramsey, Bill Skipworth, Bill Robbins, Houston Young, Roy Wagner and Don Mullinix.  A car was provided for family use, courtesy of Young Motor Company of Sherman.


Bobbie Nell Dunn, age 90, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center with her children and grandchildren by her side. Mrs. Dunn was born February 2, 1921 in Royce City, Texas, the daughter of Paschal and Mary (Olive) Cox. She married the love of her life W. H. “Pete” Dunn September 6, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma. She worked for Wilson N. Jones Medical Center for 25 years. Bobbie devoted her life to family. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Many in the community depended on her to sew for them. Bobbie loved the Lord and was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Dunn is survived by her beloved family: daughter, Donna Stephenson of Denison, Texas; son, Bob Dunn of Denison, Texas; grandchildren, Kyle Stephenson of Sherman, Texas; C. Kerrie Carpio of Lantana, Texas; Misty Ward of Franklin, Massachusetts; and Kristen Stone of Spring, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kade McAtee, Mathew McAtee, Kellan Ward and Andrew Stone; sister, Mary Pool and husband, Lewis of Lufkin, Texas; and niece, Lana Parker of Lufkin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, W. H. “Pete” Dunn.
Mrs. Dunn was cremated according to her wishes. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Cottonwood Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy Woods officiating.
