Jerry Allen Wright passed away June 20,  2022.  He was born in Sherman, Texas on January 25, 1955, son of Allen Eugene Wright and Mary Ann Wright of Sherman, Texas.  Jerry graduated from Sherman ISD and continued his education at Killeen Cadet School to be a police officer.  He later worked on his Masters at American University for criminal justice.
Jerry dedicated his life to law enforcement.  He served on the police forces of Killeen, Victoria, Sherman, and Denison.  While serving as a police officer and later as a private investigator, he earned several awards including Killeen Police Officer of the Year and Dedicated & Faithful Service Award from the Grayson County Attorney's office. He worked as a special investigator for CPS for several years.
Jerry is survived by his son, Smith Keller Wright of Ft. Worth; sister, Terri Ann Short of Sherman; nephew, Matthew Allen Short and grand-nephew, Hayden Allen Short of Sherman; niece, Mary Beth Jones and husband, Seth Allen Jones, of Denison.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents.
A Memorial Service was held Sunday afternoon, June 26, 2022. Graveside service was at Friendship Cemetery, Sherman, Texas.
He often said, "Wasn't I blessed to be raised on Friendship Road.  Just a country boy."
