Herman Lyndell Wadley passed away to his heavenly home on March 14, 2023, at the age of 70. He was born on July 6, 1952 to James Clifton Wadley and Margaret Jane (Hoover) Wadley in Paris, Texas.

Herman served his country in the US Marines from 1969 to 1971. During his time there he received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with Star and Rifle Badge Marksman. After his time in service he worked for McCoy’s in Gainesville, TX. From there he was self-employed as a building contractor. He then retired and made many memories with family and friends. During retirement he served as the Commander of the American Legion Post in Honey Grove, TX. Herman enjoyed the outdoors with his family and friends, playing his guitar and singing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Herman was preceded in death by his father, mother, and good friends: Charles Boswell, Big Boy and Danny Banker.

He is survived by his sons; Joshua Wood (Cynthia), Travis Wadley (Kelsey), and Colby Wadley (Rachel); his daughters: Leia Ruthart, Alysha Alford (Matthew), and Tiffany Kemp (Jackie); his siblings: Brenda Currin and Jimmy Wadley; his grandchildren: Gavin Alford, Bishop Hiller (Chessa), Sherman Haskins, Kyce Woods, Zoey Alford, Isaac Alford, Sydnie Haskins, Connor Wood, Kalob Loftice, Micha Wadley, Sean Wood, Eli Loftice, Naomi Loftice, Jackson Kemp, Kennedi Kemp, Tate Wadley, Paislee Wadley, Owen Wadley; great grandchildren: Khloe Basham, Wyllun Hiller, and Klyde Woods; and many aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be officiated by his sons, Travis and Colby Wadley, at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison, TX, Monday, March 20, 2023 at 1 pm. Graveside service to follow at Fairview Cemetery with Joshua Wood, Sherman Haskins, Bishop Hiller, Derrick Boswell, BJ Patterson, Dillon Baugh, Dawson Wooten and Drake Wooten serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Connor Wood, Sean Wood, Jackson Kemp, Tate Wadley and Owen Wadley.

Family will have visitation at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison, TX on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 3-5pm.
