Eugene Nathaniel Owens 78, went peacefully home to our Lord’s Arms, September 15, 2021 at Texoma Medical Center.

Mr. Owens was born July 21, 1943 in Sherman, Texas the son of John Brooks and Annie Bell (Cantrell) Owens. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1961 and later attended Grayson County College. Eugene married the love of his life, Carol Elizabeth Harkness August 16, 1963 in Denison, Texas. She preceded him in death May 5, 2011. Eugene took an early retirement to spend time caring for Carol during her health problems. He cherished the last Father’s Day card Carol gave him. Quoting from the card “On Father’s Day and every day, I hope you know how thankful I am that you’re my husband and very best friend.” Then Carol had added “I love so much and appreciate you for putting your health aside and helping me. With all my love, Carol. I love you too Dad, Rusty.” (Rusty was the Cockapoo puppy they had gotten in 2001 and lovingly began calling our “Angel Puppy” because he was so well trained and caring.) Eugene enjoyed careers such
as mechanic work, also working in the accounting dept. at the M-K-T Railroad, owning and operating three different Exxon Businesses, and a fast food restaurant business. He loved the Lord and was a member of Trinity Lighthouse Church. Eugene will be greatly missed by all who know and loved him.
