DENISON – Don Loyd Dillon, 59, of Denison went home to his Lord and Savior on November 2, 2011.
Family will receive friends during visitation on Sunday afternoon from 3 – 4 p.m. at Bratcher Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Parkside Baptist Church, 301 N. Lillis Lane, Denison, Texas with Pastor Chet Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1501 N. Hwy. 91, Denison, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Kim Bryan, Wayne Dillon, Lanny Pettit, Carson Bryan, James Butler and Jeff Harp. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Parkside Baptist Church.
Don was born February 19, 1952 in Colorado City, TX to Loyd and Zelta Dillon. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Bryan, in Detroit, TX on June 15, 1973 and she was still the light of his life. He graduated from Detroit High School and East Texas Baptist College with a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. He taught at Tom Bean High School but later found his calling in construction. He owned Dillon Construction and was a well-respected custom home builder. He was a long time member and deacon of Parkside Baptist Church of Denison and was a faithful servant of God. His hobbies included spending time with his wife and family, traveling, playing with his dogs, cycling, landscaping, hiking and his devotional time.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Dillon; daughters Melody Dillon of Denison and Michelle Dillon of Plano; sister Teresa Bryan-Pettit and husband Lanny of Denison; brothers Jim Bryan and wife Carmen of San Antonio, TX, James Butler of Chicago, IL; mother-in-law Sue Bryan of Denison; nephews Wayne Dillon and wife Melinda of Marshall, TX, Carson Bryan
of Denison, Shane Bryan currently serving in Afghanistan; niece Laura Crossman and husband Kelly of Portland, MA;
great nieces Mary Katheryn Dillon of Marshall, McKenzie Crossman of Portland, MA and great nephew Landon Bryan of Rochester, NY.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Zelta Dillon; brother Forest Alvin Dillon ; niece Janelle Dillon and father-in-law Bob Bryan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "The ROC" at Parkside Baptist Church in his memory.
