Lillie Laverne (Patterson) Edmiaston passed from this earthly life into the loving arms of her Savior on April 4, 2022.
Laverne was born on December 8, 1926, in Duke, Oklahoma to Vesta and Rudy Patterson.  She graduated from Duke High School in 1944, and married Troy H. Edmiaston on March 5, 1947.  Troy and Laverne resided in Altus, Oklahoma and raised their two daughters there.  Laverne was a very active member of the First Baptist Church and worked as a dental office receptionist.
The family relocated to Denison, Texas in 1971 with Troy's job as an engineer with the MKT railroad.  Laverne then worked as a receptionist for a local physician until she retired.  In addition, she was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and the local Woodmen of the World branch.  Laverne was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed counted cross stitch, quilting, playing the piano, cooking, and reading.
Laverne moved to San Antonio, Texas at the age of eighty-nine to be closer to family, and found great pleasure in her three great-grandsons Blake, Wyatt, and Jackson.
Laverne will be sorely missed by her two daughters, Rebecca Edmiaston and husband Jerry Maifeld of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Rhonda Smith of San Antonio, Texas: grandchildren Rusty Smith, Darcy Smith, Tyler Smith and wife Ashley.  She also has four step-grandchildren: Kathy Edmiaston, Randy Edmiaston, Carla Edmiaston and Samuel Edmiaston, also her beloved youngest sister Rudene Langner of Bells, Texas, aunt, Iva Lee Jones of Amarillo, Texas, and several nieces and nephews along with countless dear friends.
Laverne was preceded in death by her treasured husband of sixty-five years, Troy, parents Rudy and Vesta Patterson, sister Virginia Grubbs, brother Terry Patterson, and stepson Jerry Edmiaston.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday April 8, 2022, at Fairview Cemetery, 1501 N. TX-91, Denison, Texas 75020. In lieu of flowers, donate to a charity of choice.
