Karen Joan Gardner, 81 years old, went to be with her precious Lord and Savior with her three children by her side, Saturday morning, October 29, 2022, at TMC Hospital in Denison, TX.

Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Fisher Funeral Home.  Pastor Dr. James Singleton will officiate, and the burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, Texas.

Karen was a faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ, was adored by her three children and was fondly known as Mimi by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was born February 8, 1941, to Carl Tucker and Marguerite Hines Tucker, in Wichita, Kansas.  She married the love of her life, Richard Gardner on August 14, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas.  She was a military wife for 30 years while Richard served in the United State Marine Corp.  They were happily married for 48 years until he passed away in 2008.  A couple of years later she met Robert Kirk and they spent 10 years together on many cruises, traveling Texas and Mexico and fishing everywhere they went.

Karen loved the outdoors, fishing, traveling, and camping, Her and Richard sold their home and began traveling, pulling their RV all over the United States for eight years. She met many lifelong friends and made many memories along the way.  In addition, she had a passion for taking cruises on the open sea.

She is survived by her children, Kent Gardner and wife Ginger, Paula Joie and husband Joe, Janet Cato and husband Jim.  Grandchildren Joseph Joie and wife Lauren, Kayla Sharp and partner Jonathan Armstrong, Derek Gardner, Jenna Kruger and husband Josh, Nicholas Cato and partner Ashlyn Chester.  Great grandchildren, Logan and Anniston Joie, Kopely Doyle and Koewyn Armstrong, and Rowyn Avila.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband and precious great grandson, Kameron Kruger.

The family would like to thank all of the Angels who took care of her during her time of need, Dr. Abraham, Dr. Tran, Heart to Heart Hospice and the amazing nurses in ICU and on the 8th floor of TMC.
