DENISON – Clyde Albert (Puggy) Cassidy, 86, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M., Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 11, 2011 at Parkside Baptist Church, 301 N. Lillis Lane, Denison, Texas, with Dr. Chet Haney and Rev. Dewey Watson officiating.

Pallbearers for Clyde (Papaw) will be Tommy Cassidy, Ronnie Cassidy, Terry Cassidy, Todd Spaulding, Curtis Gladden & Mike Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be all the friends and associates from his many years with the MKT Railroad.
He was born March 5, 1925 in Denison, the son of Tom R. Cassidy and Ruth Marie Powell. He married Iva Lorene Rice in Durant, Oklahoma on October 4, 1942. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2002.

Clyde accepted his Lord as Savior in 1990 and became a member of Parkside Baptist Church at that time; worked for the MKT Railroad from 1944 to 1988 - starting as a switchman and worked his way up to system superintendent; was a member of the Masonic Lodge; was a long time youth coach in the 1950's; helped to build the Denison Dam; drove a dairy truck.
Pap Paw was loved by many and never met a stranger. He moved several times during his years with the railroad and made lifelong friends in every city they lived. He was known for his antics on fishing trips, golf outings and any family gathering. His memory will live on in the form of all of the children, young and old, he loved and cared for throughout the years.

He is survived by son Tommy Cassidy & wife Barbara of Denison; daughters Clydette Spaulding & husband Robert of Greenville, Annette Tempelmeyer & husband Carl of Hogeye, Arkansas; brother Freddie Don Cassidy & wife Glenda of Denison; sister Patsy Jean Owens of Denison; special niece Lea Ann Owens of Denison; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lorene; brothers Tommy P., Billy Ray, & Jimmy Lee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Parkside Baptist Church.

Arrangements are entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard Street, Denison, TX 75020, (903) 465-2323.
