Cooie Alvis Hendrickson, age 87, returned to his heavenly home, Saturday, December 8, 2018. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa.
Cooie was born January 5, 1931 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, son of John and Nora (York) Hendrickson. He was educated at Keys School District. He enlisted in the Army from 1948 until he received an honorable discharge in 1950. He was stationed in Germany with the Twenty-Six Infantry, Company K, 3rd Battalion. He was the squadron leader on 57 Reacalis guns, September 28, 1950 he married Mary Elizabeth Curtis in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Cooie retired from Lankford Roofing after 47 years. He was a member of Park Avenue Church of Christ.
Mr. Hendrickson leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Hendrickson, daughter, Pamela Hendrickson, son, Curtis Hendrickson and his wife, June, granddaughter, Megan Smith and husband, Chris Smith, great granddaughter, Sofia Smith, niece, Joyce Foster, and a few other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Henderickson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Minister Todd Catteau officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Denison. Family and friends will gather to visit one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lyndon Nix, Earl Lynch, Sam Lynch, Ken Washburn, Howard Rainwater, and David Howerton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 Street Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
