Denison, Texas -- Barbara Justina Washington, 67, of Denison, Texas, went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2015 at Texoma Medical Center surrounded by a plethora of family and friends.
Public viewing is Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Greater Coffey Memorial C.O.G.I.C. 231 West Texas Street, Denison from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present beginning at 7:00 p.m. to receive friends. The celebration service for Barbara will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lighthouse Church 2915 Spur 503 Denison, Texas.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Denison.
Barbara was born December 25, 1947, in Denison, TX, the daughter of the late Hattie and James Hunt Sr.  She was the eldest of five siblings.  She married Fred Earl Washington Sr., of Marlin, TX and James Dawson of Denison, TX.
Ms. Washington was an active member of Greater Coffey Memorial C.O.G.I.C., where she served as the Choir President
for over twenty years.  She was also involved with the Youth Department and the Women’s Department.

Barbara Justina Washington is survived by her children: DeeAnna Washington, Ericka (Hal) Hinton, Crystal (Daniel) Myles and Anthony Washington; a brother, James (Patricia) Hunt, Jr. her sisters, Virginia (Robert) Rhodes, Regina (Rayce) Guess and Michelle Hunt; her grandchildren, Justin (Kara) Washington, Brandi (Damion) Johnson, Brittany Washington, Ashlyn (Jason) Tindell, Iyani Kelly and Ari-Simone Washington; 7 great children and a host of extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Hattie Hunt Sr. Fred E. Washington, Sr. and her son Fred E. Washington, Jr.
