Richard V. Moore

A celebration of life for Mr. Richard Von Moore, age 48, of Tyler, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday March 15, 2014 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1131 S. Scullin Ave. in Denison, TX. Pastor Alton E. Blakely will officiate. Public viewing will be on Friday March 14, 2014 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at Cravens Funeral Home.

Richard was born in Denison, TX, on April 15, 1965. As a child, he lived in various cities such as Oceanside, CA, Barstow, CA, Cherry Point, NC, and Dallas, TX, due to his father being in the United States Marine Corp. He received his education from Denison Public Schools and graduated in 1984.

After High School, Richard attended the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, TX. He was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and was employed with Turner Brothers Mortuary in Gilmore, TX, and later with Sterling Funeral Directors in Tyler, TX. He was also a self-employed contractor for over 18 years. Richard enjoyed fishing, sport hunting, horse riding, gardening, and motocross. He raised Blue Tick Hound sport dogs and was a member of the National Coon Hound Champion Association.

On Friday March 7, 2014, Richard entered into eternal life at the age of 48 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers; Jimmy Criss, Sr., and Charlie Moore, grandmother, Evelyn Moore and his biological father, Olton Mcdade.

He is survived by: his spouse, Eddie Doll Choice of Tyler, TX, children; Renita Moore of Jacksonville, NC, Mashunda McNeal, Monique McNeal, Carlos "Dee" Erwin, all of Humble, TX, Kaelon Erwin, Dalvin Erwin, both of Tyler, mother, Theresa Jones and husband James Jones of Denison, TX, father, Moses Moore and wife Kathy, grandmother, Arletha Criss, sisters; Monique Mcdade-Freeman and Aurelia Moore, brother, Eric Mcdade, step sisters; Michelle Roberts-Byers and Kimberly Samuel-Ross, god daughter, Summer Jackson, god mother, Cynthia Hobbs, and many other relatives and friends.
