W.E. PRATHER DROPS DEAD HERE MONDAY
William E. Prather, 64, a resident of Denison since 1888, died suddenly  Monday at 11 a.m. at Munson street and Fifth avenue while on the say to a doctor to received treatment f or a broken arm, received some time ago.  Mr. Prather was taken to a hospital by Short-Murray ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.  He resided at 701 E. Texas street.
Mr. Prather was born at Athens, Tennessee, December 30, 1869, son of Mr. and  Mrs. John Prather, and received his schooling at Athens and at Trenton, Texas.  He married Miss Suda Bingham at Denison September 20, 1898, shortly after coming here from Orangeville, Texas.  Mr. Prather became  connected with the Waples-Platter Grocery Co. in 1888 and has been with the firm continually since that time.  He was in charge of the coffee roaster at Waples-Platter for 23 years.   Mr. Prather was a  member of the W.O.W. and the Methodist church.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Suda Prather; 2 sons, Paul of Denison and Max of Houston; 2 daughters, Miss Dora Mae of Denison and Mrs. Louise Slagle of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; one brother, Joe of Homet, California; 2 sisters, Mrs. Sallie Bice of New Boston, Texas and Mrs. Scott Brown, Orangeville, Texas; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Short-Murray chapel, Rev. F.B. Wheeler officiating.  Burial will be at Fairview cemetery with Short-Murray, funeral directors, in charge.
