Funeral services were held Saturday for Mrs. Bertha Crane, 73, at Bratcher-Moore chapel with Rev. Ed Bayless and Rev. Richard Crews officiating.  Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Crane died suddenly at the home of her son, Ernest Crane, 610 W. Chestnut, after 4 months' illness, part of which time was in a local hospital.  Her home was at 603 W. Main, where she had lived for many years.  She was the widow of John A. Crane, a former city policeman.
Mrs. Crane was born in Memphis, Tennessee, October 5, 1876, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Mergell.  She received her schooling in Denison.  She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors are her son, Ernest Crane of Denison; a brother, Alex Mergell of Kansas City; and a sister, Mrs. Oliver Scheid of Denison; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
