Funderburk Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral of Mrs. Maud Groves Jones, 79, at the chapel Wednesday afternoon with Jim Swafford, minister of Armstrong Avenue Church of Christ, officiating.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones died at her home 231 E. Munson Tuesday morning at 2:15.  She had been ill for a long time. Mrs. Jones was born in the Shannon community January 19, 1877, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Jones. She received her schooling in local schools and in Sherman and was married December 21, 1904 to Lon Jones who survives her.  She was a member of the Armstrong Church of Christ.
