MRS. MARY JANE PROFFITT DIES IN GRAYSON COUNTY

Denison, Texas, April 9 - A resident of Grayson County for fifty years, thirty of them spent at Dripping Springs, near Denison, Mrs. Mary Jane Proffitt, 85, died at her home Monday.  She and her husband recently observed the sixty-fourth anniversary of their marriage.
Born in Tennessee, Mrs. Proffitt went to West Plains, Mo., with her parents, where she was educated. There she was married to M.A. Proffitt, an itinerant Baptist minister, and served as his assistant.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the Baptist Church at Cotton Mill.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, N.L. and A.P. Proffitt of Hamlin, Jones County; and Lawrence Proffitt of Denison; four daughters, Mrs. Annie Jesse of Denison; Mrs. Delia Hicks of Sherman; Mrs. Nettie White of Marshall; and
Mrs. Eula Taylor of Bowie; thirty-six grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
