DENISON - Daniel Webster "Dan" Spencer Jr., age 95, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Texoma Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Mr. Spencer was born on April 30, 1910 in Spencer, Louisiana to Daniel Sr. and Leona (McVicker) Spencer. Mr. Spencer graduated from Huttig High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. Dan married Jean Stevens on November 25, 1937 in Dallas, Texas. The Spencers moved to Denison in 1946. Dan established Spencer Furniture and Appliance Store. After 27 years, he retired in 1971, and went into the ranching and farming business. Mr. Spencer was a Mason and a member of Lone Star Lodge #403 and had received his 50-year pin. Dan was also a Shriner and member of Hella Temple.
Mr. Spencer is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jean Spencer of Denison, Texas; daughter, Dana Niec of Denison, Texas; grandchildren, Kalae Cearley of Denison, Texas, Michelle Thrasher of Richardson, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Brittian Cearley of Orlando, Florida, John Thrasher and Leah Thrasher of Richardson, Texas.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Leona Spencer; six sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Fairview Cemetery Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2005 with Rev. Carl Bilderback officiating. Private interment will follow. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at Fairview Chapel.

DENISON - Dana Spencer Niec, 71, went home to be with Lord Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Texoma Medical Center.Mrs. Niec was born April 4, 1941 in Brownwood, the daughter of Dan and Jean (Stevens) Spencer. She grew up in Denison, and graduated from Denison High School in 1959 and attended Arkansas University. Dana worked for Continental Airlines and Presidents Health Spa in Dallas before retiring. She loved gardening, decorating, her family and her sweet little dog Truffles. Dana was a loving mother, grandmother and daughter. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Mrs. Niec is survived by her loving family; mother, Jean Spencer of Denison; daughters, Mishelle Thrasher of Richardson, and Kalae Cearley of Port St. Joe, Fla.; three grandchildren, Britain Cearly, John Thrasher and Leah Thrasher; one great-grandson, Zaelyn Patterson. She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Spencer.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Carl Bilderback officiating.
