Funeral services were conducted Monday for Mrs. Louisa Elizabeth Lawhon, who died at her home, 611 W. Texas street Sunday evening.  She had been ill for several weeks and had been a resident of Denison for 45 years.
Services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. B.C. Brown, pastor of the Calvary Baptist church with Bratcher-Moore directing.  Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
A native of Downsville, Louisiana, Mrs. Lawhon was born October 28, 1861 and was married in Downsville January 18, 1881 to the late John W. Lawhon.  She was a resident of Kaufman county before coming to Denison.
Mrs. Lawhon was a member of the Calvary Baptist church, Women's Benefit Association, and the Tribe of Ben Hur.
Surviving are 2 sons, F.R. Lawhon of Denison and T.G. Lawhon of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Mae Mullins of Ft. Worth; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Suddenly At Home

Mrs. F. R. Lawhon, 72, life-long resident of Denison and wife to the oldest employe of the Denison Herald, died from a heart attack Thursday at 8 p.m. at her home, 611 West Texas.
Mrs. Lawhon first suffered what appeared to be a minor heart upset five days ago but was not confined to her bed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson-Moore chapel with Rev. Earnest Potter, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Lawhon was born in Denison Feb. 8, 1886, and was Miss Myrtle Morgan before her marriage to Lawhon here April 15, 1908.
The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with open-house at their home three weeks ago.
Her husband has been employed in the Herald composing room a half century and has an even longer record as a printer. Mrs. Lawhon was a member of a pioneer Denison family, having been married here.
Mrs. Lawhon was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Lester Lawhon, Fort Worth, Paul J. Lawhon, Pamina, Calif.; and Edwin M. Lawhon, Waco; one daughter, Mrs. R. S. Beckham, an employe of the Citizens National Bank; two brothers, George W. Morgan, Beaumont, and Jack J. Morgan, Compton, Calif.; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The Lawhons spent all their married life in Denison, with the exception of a few years in Terrell.
