Funeral services were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel  Tuesday morning for Miss Sallie Roy, 74, Denison school teacher for many years, who died in a Sherman hospital Sunday, July 3, after 4 months' illness.
Miss Roy had lived in Denison 72 years, and her home was at 1012 W. Main.  She was born in Forrest City, Arkansas, August 21, 1874, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Argyle S. Roy.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Miss Roy received her education in the Denison schools, and Denton's Teachers' College, and had taught in schools in Denison and surrounding communities for 48 years.
Survivors include a sister, Miss Elizabeth Roy, with whom she made her home; 2 nieces, Mrs. May Murphy and Mrs. Henry Hill, and one nephew, Roy Davis, all of Denison.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ronald Prince, and interment was in Fairview cemetery.



Roy Gordon Davis

Denison - Graveside rites for Roy Gordon Davis, 86, who died Sunday in a Savoy Nursing Home, were held Tuesday morning at Fairview Cemetery.  Rev. Jack Stafford with associate minister of the First Presbyterian Church, officiated.  Mullican-Little Funeral Home was in charge.
He was born December 18, 1893 in Denison, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Davis.  He married Mark Kiker in 1941 in Denison.  He was a Navy veteran of World War I and had been a lineman for Texas Power & Light Co. and later operated Highland
Florist in Denison.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Only survivor is a sister-in-law, Mrs. Norman Cowan of Denison; and a niece, Mrs. Norma Elkins of Denison.
