Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Bratcher-Moore chapel for Mrs. Lucy J. Marler, 90 years of age, who died at 901 Layne Drive Thursday morning after a mont's illness. The Rev. Ed Bayless of First Presbyterian church and Rev. W. O. Bucy of Trinity, conducted the services and burial was in Fairview cemetery.
Mrs. Marler was born in Lebanon, Tenn., Dec. 15, 1861, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Simpson. She received her education in Tennessee schools and was married there in 1886
to J. D. Marler who died in 1916. She lived in McKinney before moving to Denison 15 years ago.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ella Laughlin and Mrs. B. H. Welch of Denison, two brothers, 5 sisters, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
