RESIDENT OF DENISON 28 YEARS PASSES
Mrs. Jennie Leeper Jones, 78, died at 5 a.m. today at her home, 1005 W. Crawford after a 3 months illness.  She
had lived in Denison for 28 years.

The funeral was held by Rev. D.E. Hawk at the home Tuesday at 4 p.m. with burial at Fairview cemetery, Short-Murray directing.
Mrs. Jones, nee Miss Jeanie Leeper, was born in Chil'ocothe, Missouri, reared and educated there in the public schools and married George Alfred Jones December 24, 1879.  Later they went to Pottsboro, where her husband was associated with W.J. Leeper lumber
business.
From there, Mr. and Mrs. Leeper went to Roswell, New Mexico, where they operated a general merchandise store.
Moving to Denison in 1910, Mr. Jones opened the G.A. Jones Hardware company which he operated until his death in 1930.  Mrs. Jones was a member of the Waples Methodist Church.
Surviving are 3 sons, Fred L. of San Francisco, Colorado; Dr. Harold of Chicago, and Reed W. of Denison; one brother, W.J. Leeper of Denison; a sister, Mrs. Scott J.
Miles of Chillicothe, Missouri; and a number of grandchildren.


Reed W. Jones Sr.

Denison - Services for Reed W. Jones, Sr., 87, retired Denison owner and operator of Farmer Jones Store, who died Sat urday at a hospital here, were held Tuesday afternoon at Bratcher Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Bob Langley of Waples Memorial Methodist Church.   Burial was at Fairview Cemetery.
A. Pratt, Kansas natives, Jones was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Jones and married Julia Clement on February 2, 1910 in Pottsboro.  He was a member of Waples Memorial Methodist Church and the Lone Star Masonic Lodge No. 403.  He attended Pottsboro High School, Austin College and Southwestern University.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Reed W. Jones, Jr. of Denison; a daughter, Mrs. Jim Cherry of Denison; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Tony Bruno, Bill F. Clement, Ralph Porter, Everett Woody, Claud Easterly and Jack Elrod.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth J. Wharton, 44, of Dallas, were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Conway Wharton, Jr. and Allen Craft of Dallas,
officiating.  Interment was in Fairview cemetery .
Mrs. Wharton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Jones, Sr. of 704 W. Hull, Denison, was born in Achille, Oklahoma, December 15, 1910.  She attended Denison schools and T.S.C.W. in Denton.  She was married in Durant April 15, 1930, to Dr. Turner A. Wharton.  She was a member of Casa Linda Presbyterian church, Dallas.
Mrs. Wharton is survived by her parents of Denison; her husband, Dr. Wharton and 3 children of Dallas, Turner Wharton, Jr.; Julia Wharton and Ruth Wharton; one brother, Dr. Reed W. Jones, Memphis, Tennessee; and a sister, Mrs. Jim Cherry, Denison.
David C. Jones

FUNERAL SERVICES TODAY FOR PFC. DAVID JONES

Denison, Texas, Oct. 3 - Funeral services were held Wednesday for PFC. David C. Jones, 20, who died Saturday in Brooks General Hospital, San Antonio, from
a disease contracted last April in England.
Private Jones, born and reared here, is a graduate of Denison High School.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed W. Jones of Denison;  his wife; a brother, Dr. Reed Jones, Dallas; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wharton, Wichita Falls; and Miss Betty Jones, Denison.
