Funeral services for M.P. Woods, 83, resident of Denison for over half a century, were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Sunday with Rev. Duke Barron, pastor of Waples Memorial Methodist church officiating and interment in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Woods was born December 9, 1868 in Iowa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Woods.
He was married in Denison in 1900 to Maud Reanch.  He was a member of Waples Methodist church and the W.O.W.  He was a retired carpenter foreman for the M-K-T. railroad and lived at 611 W. Chestnut.
Survivors include one son, C.R. Woods, Dallas; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Gill and Mrs. Elizabeth Buchanan, both of Dallas; and 2 grandchildren.
