Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Bratcher-Moore chapel for Thomas Edward Steen, Sr., 615 W. Sears, who died at his home Saturday afternoon after 8 months of illness.  Rev. Ed Bayless, pastor of the First Presbyterian church officiated and interment was in Fairview cemetery with Bratcher-Moore, funeral directors, in charge.
Mr. Steen was born in Delaware Bend, Grayson County, November 19, 1879, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. Steen.  He was educated in Denison schools and was married here June 16, 1903 to Miss Bessie Mae Duckworth.  Mrs. Steen died October 6, 1947.  He was a member of the Eagles, Elks and WOW.  He was a cattle buyer and grocer until 1924.
Survivors include his son, Tom E. Steen, Jr. of Arlington; and J.P. Steen of San Antonio; and a sister, Mrs. Lenora McDonald of Burbank, California; and 2 grandchildren.
